Estes Logistics Assumes Hub Operations For Clear Lane Freight Systems In Southern California

November 4, 2020

Press Announcement: November 4th, 2020

Beginning November 1st, the logistics division of Estes-Express will assume the distribution and consolidation operations for Clear Freight Systems in Southern California.

In the already capacity constrained transportation market, the change will allow Clear Lane Freight to continue and accelerate its growth. A huge benefit from this strategic move is improved service in the region.

“We are excited about the change over to Estes Level 2”, said Ingi Torfason, Chief Operating Officer. “We will be able to take advantage of Level 2’s large capacity and driver force to offer our customers on time consistent pick up and delivery service.  Additionally, we will be able to reduce transit times in our lanes by 1-2 days in many cases with timely releases of outbound southern California schedules”. All of this in addition to being a low cost economy solution for non time sensitive LTL freight.

Clear Lane Freight Systems was founded in 2012 by industry veterans Tom Nagel and Ingi Torfason. Last year Clear Lane Freight became an affiliated company of Estes-Express Lines, the largest privately held LTL carrier in the nation.

Clear Lane Freight has become a leading non-asset based economy LTL provider for the 3RD party logistics industry and selected shippers. The company provides LTL services for non time sensitive shippers that are able to exchange slightly longer but consistent transit times for a considerable savings compared to the typical asset based LTL carriers.  By utilizing standard and expedited intermodal services in long haul lanes and over the road services in short haul lanes the savings are passed on to customers.

With a pickup and delivery network of over 30 high quality agents which includes some of the best regional LTL carriers in the nation, Clear Lane is able to provide a seamless service from pickup to delivery.

With the four key indicators of LTL carrier’s performance measures; cost, on-time performance, freight damage and billing accuracy, Clear Lane Freight performs at a high level.

With the resources of Estes-Express behind Clear Lane Freight, watch for additional service and technology improvements in the near future.
